DIY Master Bathroom Turned Modern Chic in Richmond, KY
This master bathroom was full of 20 year-old DIY landmines from a previous owner, from poor electric routing and planning to shower tile installed directly to the sub-floor. First, we gutted the bathroom to the studs and sub-floor to start from scratch. Then we expanded the shower to a roomy 6x4 space, with two 6” LED recessed lights on a dimmer switch. Along with floor to ceiling tile, the curbless shower received several other upgrades including a custom shower niche, a custom floating shower bench, upgraded plumbing with two independent shower handles to operate the flow and temperature of the regular shower head, and a handheld shower wand. His and her separate vanities with touch-activated LED vanity mirrors were installed. The old Hollywood jetted tub was removed and a make-up nook of the homeowner’s dreams took its place. To say this bathroom is well-lit would be an understatement. The lighting includes four 6” LED recessed lights, two sconce lights, the touch-activated LED mirrors, and a chic chandelier.
